Remember That Day
Can you remember that day, in that small house, where at the stroke of twelve, not a creature was sterling, not even a mouse. When a million small children pretended to sleep, nearly didn't have Christmas at all? I remember that day. That was the day my life had changed completely around. I remember my life before that day as well. It was three weeks from Christmas, I was sitting in my house, listening to Elton John's; Rocket Man. I was slowly singing along with the lyrics, mumbling at the parts I couldn't remember. I sat in my rough leather reclining chair, next to my oak tree fire pit. I had company before, but she decided to leave.

Advice For Class of 2016
Try your best to get good grades for the end of the year field trips. And feel free to try new things, no one will make fun of you for it, especially if you enjoy doing it. If you get Mrs. Silady for your math class be sure to take quick notes and write down EVERYTHING she writes on the board, it will help you a lot. For those of you who get Mrs. Whelen be sure to ask her slow her teaching down if she goes too fast. Other than that good luck and have fun with your last year in Asa Clark.

Midnight Beast
The rain trickles upon my roof
The midnight creature is about
He comes out every day
He comes out every night
People haven’t seen him
People haven’t talked to him
These fools will parish from his wrath
The midnight creature is going door to door
Attacking only those who are ill or old
The stories say he is massive
Stealing children and grandparents with a quick motion of
his hand
I have seen pictures of what he has done
He can rid of large families and small families alike
He can rid God himself
I hear a knocking upon my door
Screaming, bangs in my head
I approach the door with caution
Grabbing a hold of the handle, twisting the knob
A large wind blows the door upon, I go flying back
A white light brightens my house
The creature enters slowly
A black tear falls from my face
He extends his hand, asking me to take it
I accept
Without word we walk out of my house and down the road
People gather by the church holding candles
Every one seems to be wearing black clothing
I see my parents, they cry as I walk past them
I try to go toward them but the creature holds me back
I look at him furiously
He says “no.”
I want to ask why, but I knew it was for the best
We leave my town, my home, my family
I want to go back but the beast doesn’t allow me to
As we walk past I notice a similar figure going to the next
town over
This one showed a dark color coming from him
As the beast near me walks past flowers
They blossomed
As the other one walks past flowers
They died in a rush
I saw a large white, fluffy, cloud going to the heavens
There was a large golden stair case only a few miles from my
home
I have been down this road many times but I have never seen
this stair case before
It was shining gold
Each step felt like a baby being made
It was magnificent
I didn’t want to stop walking
Finally we reached the top
A large gate was open waiting for me to enter
I saw my great grandma waiting for me
She stood alone
I asked where grandpa was
She replied, “Not here my dear.”
I didn’t understand what she meant
I didn’t understand where I was
I didn’t understand why the midnight creature did cause harm
to my family or fiends
I didn’t care why the creature didn’t
I was happy that he had brought me to my grandma
I told her I was sorry for what I had done before she passed
Midnight creature was back on the streets waiting for the next
person to bring home.

It's Worth Crying Over
His luscious, shoulder length, dirty brown hair flowed in the wind. His skin was completely flawless, not a single mark or sign of acne. He had dark blue eyes, when he would look up toward the heavens his eyes make the sky cry. People gathered around him in awe as even they cried at the sight of him. A old woman stood in front of him. More tears poured from her eyes than the sky's. The old woman in front of him was his mother. She stood alone as his father was not able to accompany them. He had said that he was too busy at work but the majority of people who did attend knew that it was only because he was visiting his therapist so he could get that great sensation that he loves so much.
A man stood behind the son, he held a Bible in one hand and a golden cross in the other. He wore a black suit with a white stole around his neck. He hadn't seen the child in his life but he could tell that this wasn't the end of the joy that he brought his family and friends. The man knew that people would look back at him and remember. The man in the book placed the cross in his shirt pocket and said to him, "Goodbye my son."
More and more tears fell from the peoples faces who gathered around him begging him not to go. His mother fell to her feet, tears covering the ground that she knelt in. As he faded away into the reality of this world people slowly got back into their cars and slowly drove away. Those who stayed were either helping his mother get back to her feet as she said her final goodbye's to her son, or those who began placing the dirt into the whole. There was a chimney, and candle that stood at the base of his tombstone, the candled flickered a few times until it completely went out. This day was truly a sad day, but people will not forget the happiness that this man brought us, weather the idea of a candle and wind chime was right to show where he went we may never know. "Today was worth crying over." His mother said as she jumped into the hole joining her son. The few men who were burring the coffin did not see her act. She two was buried.

I am Happy
The year was 1848, I was just celebrating the discovery
of gold in Sutter’s Mill, California. Unfortunately I was with a
couple of my friends in Idaho searching for gold when we heard of the gold
rush. Although the team wanted to head over to California to see the gold rush
and perhaps be a part of it. I said ‘no’ I told them that we need to stay in
Idaho and pray that we too find gold.
Furious,
over half of the team had left and headed toward Los Angeles. I didn’t know
what to do without my best pickers, it would be near impossible to dig without
them. No one else truly knew how to use the machines, although we could use
pickaxes that would only take much more time. Knowing that none of us had the
capability of running the machines I told the remaining team that we would have
to work twice as hard and fast if we were to find any gold.
The
warm heat from the intense sun grew hotter and hotter as the day went by.
Around five o’clock did it happen. We struck gold! We found gold in McCall,
Idaho I could tell that everyone was happy with our discovery but
we needed to hide the majority of the gold and then spread word of it. I
grabbed small pieces of gold and placed them inside my desk that was around
half an hour from where we were digging.
I was
happy. I was happy that we found our gold. I was also happy that we found gold
so know we can return to our loving families. But first we needed to spread
word of the discovered gold. When I returned to camp I saw something I didn’t
believe. Around the digging hole we found more and more gold pieces. I was very
happy.
We
continued to dig for another few hours when we heard news of that the gold rush
in California was nearly over. I knew that it would be my job to have to spread
word of our discovery of gold. After
another hour or so we heard word of that the gold amount found in California
had doubled! They say that the man had found over two million dollars worth of
gold! Time was running short, there would be more and more people
who would want to see this man’s discovery. But then I realized it, people are
going to see the gold, yes, but they are also going to see what this young man
had found!
Young
people always have so much life in them and if word were to spread that an old
man, such as myself, had found even more gold than I were to be sure to have
more attention than the man in California. Although I wanted people to learn of
my discovery I couldn’t kill anything for the attention. I would never kill
another person.
I f my
mom had taught me anything it’s to be a good person! And that is what I am
going to be. But then again with the rest of the team getting their even share
it would only be a matter of time before they start digging on their own. Yes,
I would have to kill them. So then I would get all the money! I told the team
that it was time for dinner and a game of poker than it was off to bed. The
chef had made pulled pork with a corn on the cob. The average American meal.
After dinner we headed to the poker table which was in the cabin. I was stopped
by another digger.
“Hey,
boss.” He whispered in my ear, “You know if we were to get rid of the other
diggers there would be more money for the two of us.”
His
idea drove me insane, I couldn’t stop thinking about joining up with this man I
had only known for a few weeks and kill everyone else. But his idea was no
different than mine. I grabbed his arm and told him to follow me. We walked
into the kitchen where I grabbed a knife. He looked at me with a smile.
“I take
that as a ‘yes’” He said as I smiled back at him.
I
looked at the blade which was lying in my hand. “I must say, your idea is quite
unusual but you do bring up a good point.” I turned him around and we began to
walk towards the door. Everyone one else was probably having a beverage waiting
for us to arrive so we could begin our game. Only a few more steps to the door.
“More money for me.” I whispered in his ear.
He
gasped as I turned him around and slit his throat with the knife. I dragged his
body out of the kitchen and threw his body into a hole where no gold was found.
I went back into the kitchen and cleaned off the knife.
As strange as this sounds I felt rather good knowing that I would be getting more money. I was happy. I walked into the cabin where four men sat around a table waiting for the dealer to deal out their cards.
As strange as this sounds I felt rather good knowing that I would be getting more money. I was happy. I walked into the cabin where four men sat around a table waiting for the dealer to deal out their cards.
“Where’s
the other guy or did he not want to lose any more money?” Said a tall muscular
man, who sat and the end of the table. I sat at the opposite side of the table
considering I was the only one who ever offered to be dealer. I lit a candle so
we could see better.
“Place
your bets.” I said as I pulled out my wallet.
“Oh,
sorry boss we aren’t playing more money anymore.” Said the tall muscular man.
The
other players began to pull out guns and pocket knives. I pulled out my
revolver. I had good memories with the revolver but if this is how the team
wanted to play than let it be that way.
A shorter
man glanced at my gun and began to reach for it. He quickly threw himself
forward and grabbed the gun and began pointing it all around. He began to
mumble something to himself but no one could understand what he was saying.
“Throw
me the weapons, throw me them now.” He said pointing the gun at all of us. I
picked up a knife that he had bet and took it out of its sheave. He quickly
pointed the gun toward the large muscular man and slowly pulled the trigger
back. The man tossed him his gun and put his hands on top of his head.
The man
on the opposite side did the same. I quickly threw the knife and amazingly the
tip went into the man’s chest. He slowly pulled the trigger as the fell to the
ground. The shot went off. The muscular man feel to the ground as blood spilled
from both sides of his head. Only three remained but I couldn’t tell if the
other two would attempt to pull the same move. I walked over and grabbed the
gun from the man. I checked the chamber and there were three more bullets.
I
grabbed the knife from his chest just in case the bullets weren’t enough. I
noticed that one of the two remaining men had left screaming. His screams
rattled my head, and then there wasn’t any sound. The other man and I quickly
ran to find him when we saw a body inside a hole. He had fell. I knew that now
it was only me and this last one man. He looked at me and shook his head and
walked into the hole.
I
watched him walk into the hole, I could have stopped him but it was too late. I
tried to get my mind together. I tried to remember that now I would have all
the money to myself but something didn’t seem right. I took all the gold and
threw it all back into the same hole were the two men were. Then I buried their
bodies with gold. I walked back into the cabin and grabbed the lantern.
I walked slowly into the night. At
first I thought I was being foolish but then I looked down and I was right. I
had walked myself to my death. I slowly fell as the moons light began to fade
away. Just as easy as pulling a trigger I hit the ground and laid there. The
lantern had broke and set my close on fire. I was paralyzed from the waist
down. I slowly burned to death. I was happy.

Watchmen Joke
Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says "But Doctor... I am Pagliacci."

Farmer Brown's Cows
Farmer Brown has a huge problem; he has three cows who he
had named; Karen, Kable, and the smallest of the three Kami. Farmer Brown knew
that there was something about the three of his cows that made them stick out
from the other farm animals. Karen who didn’t have a care in the world, she
would lay in the meadow listening to her iPod while Farmer Brown would milk
her.
Kable,
who was the wealthiest of the three, would sit in the grass counting his large
mountains of money while Farmer Brown milked him. As for Kami, she would never
be milked, she was minus an utter. Because Kami wasn’t able to be milked she
would sit in the barn and play video games on her laptop.
Farmer
Brown’s cows were cherished to him, but they felt otherwise. They thought that
Farmer Brown was being too harsh on them. So they asked their great friend the
one and only chicken in the entire farm; Nick.
Nick told them that he got to roam
around and do whatever he wanted by simply ignoring what Farmer Brown told him.
Nick told the three cows that all they had to do to feel appreciated is to not
do what is asked of them and they will get more attention than ever. So they
did what the chicken told them.
For many weeks Farmer Brown didn’t
get any milk from any of the cows. Karen, Kable, and Kami knew that what Nick
had told them was working but they also noticed sadness coming from Farmer
Brown. Kami had told Karen and Kable about a website that she found that told
said that if the cows don’t give milk than they will lose the farm and Farmer
Brown will be very upset.
After a few more weeks of ignoring
Farmer Brown, Farmer Brown became very upset and began to yell at the cows a
lot. Although the cows were getting the attention they always wanted they knew
that this was not the attention that the chicken Nick had told them about. This
was far worse than what the chicken Nick had said.
After a few more days the three
cows watched from the barn has a long black limo pulled up to Farmer Brown’s
drive way. A man in a black suit stepped out of the driver seat of the car, and
began to walk to the end of the limo and opened the door for an older woman to
step out of the limo. She used as a cane to keep her balance as she slowly
approached the farmer.
Although the cows didn’t hear what
the woman had said to Farmer Brown they knew that it wasn’t good. Farmer Brown
had a few tears pour down from his eyes as he pointed towards the barn. The old
woman began walking toward the barn. She had the driver open the door and saw
the three cows who stood in the center of the barn.
The weather quickly changed from a
bright summer’s day to a hard rain as lightning flashed scaring the cows
causing them to tremble to their knees. The woman pointed to Kable as the
driver grabbed the cow by the bell that hung around his neck, and pulled away
from the other two. Kami had begin to cry at the sight of Kable being taken
away, but then Arleen the wise goat walked into the barn and saw what was being
done to the other farm animals. Outraged the goat began to dash toward the
driver and hit him down to the ground with her mighty horns. The woman quickly
turn to the farmer was quickly chuckling at the man who sat in the dirt.
The woman began to walk back toward
Farmer Brown she seemed to be warning him about something but then she whistled
to the driver as he got up and ran to assist the woman with her door. Once she
was in the driver shut her door and got into the driver’s seat and drove away
leaving a cloud of smoke and dirt.
The farmer walked into the barn and
hugged all of the animals, including Nick the chicken who began to blush. The
other animals laughed at Nick’s blushing but he tried to hide it by turning his
away and acting muscular. Farmer Brown told the cows that if they didn’t give
him the milk that he desperately needed than they would lose the farm and they
would have to go and live with that horrible woman.
About a month later the woman came
back to the farm and swung her door open with her own hands and quickly walked
toward the farm where Farmer Brown sat on the stack of hay milking Kami. The
woman saw what was happening and a small grin appeared on her face, just as
quickly as she came she left and told the driver to drive away.
As they drove away the old woman
turned back and waved to Farmer Brown who was lifting two buckets of milk. The
woman turned toward the front and sunk down into her seat as a smile came
across her face, her smile was ear to ear and she began to laugh at her
happiness.
The woman never spoke to Farmer
Brown after that day but everything went back to normal, only this time Kami
was giving the most milk out of all the other cows. Even Nick was laying more
eggs than before bring in more profit for Kable to add to his money piles.
The End
