Symbolism in "Speak"

Trees. They are everywhere. In a forest down in the Brazil, or in a small park of New York City, trees will always be there. But what exactly does a tree do? In science trees give us air. And with air we can breath, but in some cases trees are bad. Although a tree can hold our key to survival, sometimes a tree can bring back a horrid memory. Looking out the window, I see a parking lot. A parking lot full of cars. To the left, there is a small court yard. The court yard has only three trees to my count. Judging by the angel there could be one more, but I see three. Three trees in front of a school. The Pirates. One of the best middle schools I have ever been in. So far I enjoy my experience in Pewaukee. One good thing is that everyone here knows exactly who they are, unlike some school who are in the area who are always changing. If it's their color or even their name; they are lost. They don't know who they are. They want to know who they are, where they go, but they don't. Why? Not because they really don't know where they are, or who they are. But because the school does not know who it is. When someone changes their name, or a name of a pet, or the name of a building. Does that person or building really know who or what it is? When will they know who they are? Only time can tell. Some schools are built for education. Like Pewaukee. Others are made for parties, like several Collages. When one throws a party people go to show their respect for that person and to have a good time. Perhaps make new friends, others go to ruin friendships. But what happens when the police are called? Does everyone go wild and loose their mind? Do the police join the fun? The answer to both those questions are "no". They panic. People will begin to loose their mind, but not from the party, but what to do. Should they stay? Should they leave and never come back to the location? Or should they find out why the police were called. Or who called the police. But once the person who called the police is found, don't people attend to come up with their own reasons on why the police were called? Absolutely. It is in our nature. To make up stories, rumors, fiction. But who is the person who actually asks the culprit on why they would call the police. That kind of person is considered a friend. "You will either build walls to keep people away, or to see who cares about you enough to tear them down." Melinda's walls were torn down... by a friend.

Infinity Room

Infinity Room; a room that goes on forever. There is no end, there is only the entrance, it is a room with no escape. There is one way in, but no way to forget what had happened. Weightless, as if standing on air. Color, it is everywhere, but where does it begin? It begins with a choice, the choice to enter the Infinity Room. Once you enter this is no escape, there is only darkness. The darkness swallows you whole, but you are to hypnotized to realize that your life is over in moments. The beautiful feel of the walls, glass, but you can not feel the pain that it brings you, only the dotted walls. Orange. Only on one wall? One wall that reflects upon the others. Or is it on all of the walls? There is no way to tell. Look up. There are more dots, more death. The color, the feel, the unknown pain. Where is the exit, scramble as you try to escape. There is no escape. Only an entrance. The door you entered is now gone, vanished, never seen again. While you feel the walls for the door, creaking sounds are heard. Sounds of movement, sounds of death. The walls. The walls are closing in. You push on one wall, trying to prevent the wall from closing. the orange dots vanish, one by one. Darkness, the darkness consumes you. Open your phone for the light. Smash. Butter fingers. No escape, no light, only darkness. When will you leave? How will you leave? Is there an exit? If so, than where is it? Alone. Scared. The walls are closing in. Only moments left. Feel the floor. Phone! Hope. No light. Only darkness. Why? Why can't you escape? Where is the exit that was promised. Yell. Yell for help. Yell for your savior. No one can hear you. You can't hear yourself. There is now a shortage of air. As the wall still closes on you. A light. Freedom. Safety. Voices call your name. You can here the voices, you move toward the sounds, grab the door. Swing it open. You are out, you have found your way out. A white light at the end of a stare case. You dash toward it, the voices sound closer. A large gate slowly opens. The creaking sound from the Infinity Room is heard. You slowly walk into the gate. The light. You have made it... slowly the light dims. A dark floor with orange dots. Walls of darkness, the light has vanished, the voices are no longer heard. No gate. No light. No voices. You are back where you once began. This truly is the Infinity Chamber.

"Speak"

Speak: to utter or articulate words sounds with the ordinary voice; talk: he was too ill to speak.
This is the meaning of ‘speak’. To talk or speak are the same, but when one is a book, they are completely different.
Rape: the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.
Rape is no joke. Some may say otherwise. Many more people have grown used to the word ‘rape’, but why would one be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops, get shot and say into the intercom that the one who shot at them had raped them? Who knows? Who wants to know truly is the question.
Call: to command or request to come; summon: to call a dog; to call a cab; to call a witness.
When one calls someone people assume they are calling for a friend, a family member, one who they can trust. But what happens when you are at a party and someone calls the police? Now what?
The three words listed above are words that help define the story of “Speak”. When one is raped they call for help. When one calls for help they speak. But what if they don’t? What would happen if one doesn’t speak when the police are on the line?
There are many things that you will remember throughout your life. Either a child being born, or an old man’s death. Rape or harassment. When one experience one of these things they will remain in their life forever. Some have the ability to forget but most do not. The memories haunt in their brains for the rest of their life. Well except for the child being born, that just stays in the brain. No matter when one experiences any of these things their will change forever.

Why is patriotism so important?

Many countries in the world have no patriotism is, those countries attend to be the countries with no rights and many rules, a non-free country. However, America is a free country and many people take that for granted. Patriotism is when one shows love and/or respect for his/her country. Many people don’t do either. In America we are the freest, we are the strongest, we are the richest, but what do we have to do to get everyone in America to understand how good we have it here?
Millions of lives have been taken so we and our children can have three square meals and a roof over our head, but look at other countries, millions of people have lost their lives in other countries as well, but they don’t get three square meals or a roof over their head. Over half the population in China is out in the streets because they are so over populated; many people who live on the streets will die faster than the average person. In America only a small amount of people live in the streets.
Patriotism is a big word, it’s hard to pronounce and even harder to show. But in America you don’t have to show it all day every day, only show your patriotism when you feel the time is right. Show the other countries that we love this land we call our own, let them see how far a country can go if everyone believes it can excel! Let us show the others out patriotism!

Greek Mythology: Hades

There are many gready people to todays world, as I'm sure there were in the past and there will be in the future. How ever what if one could have all the money from the world and yet still not be happy. In Greek Mythology terms, Hades, the god of the underworld, had all the money he could ever want, he had the power, he had the fame and yet like most super stars, he was not happy with what he was given. I can honistly say to myself that me and Mythology's Hades are not all that different; we both have greed and money, although Hades would probally have more than me. Hades was well known and greatly feared back during the Myotholigical time, I am feared because of my writing, most find it... horrific, and Hades was feared because he was the god of the underworld. Most people have come to realize that the gods are not real, but if they were what would they think of this one we call God? This is an example of a question that relates to history and presant, so I think that it needs an answer.
