Midnight Beast

The rain trickles upon my roof
The midnight creature is about
He comes out every day
He comes out every night
People haven’t seen him
People haven’t talked to him
These fools will parish from his wrath
The midnight creature is going door to door
Attacking only those who are ill or old
The stories say he is massive
Stealing children and grandparents with a quick motion of his hand
I have seen pictures of what he has done
He can rid of large families and small families alike
He can rid God himself
I hear a knocking upon my door
Screaming, bangs in my head
I approach the door with caution
Grabbing a hold of the handle, twisting the knob
A large wind blows the door upon, I go flying back
A white light brightens my house
The creature enters slowly
A black tear falls from my face
He extends his hand, asking me to take it
I accept
Without word we walk out of my house and down the road
People gather by the church holding candles
Every one seems to be wearing black clothing
I see my parents, they cry as I walk past them
I try to go toward them but the creature holds me back
I look at him furiously
He says “no.”
I want to ask why, but I knew it was for the best
We leave my town, my home, my family
I want to go back but the beast doesn’t allow me to
As we walk past I notice a similar figure going to the next town over
This one showed a dark color coming from him
As the beast near me walks past flowers
They blossomed
As the other one walks past flowers
They died in a rush
I saw a large white, fluffy, cloud going to the heavens
There was a large golden stair case only a few miles from my home
I have been down this road many times but I have never seen this stair case before
It was shining gold
Each step felt like a baby being made
It was magnificent
I didn’t want to stop walking
Finally we reached the top
A large gate was open waiting for me to enter
I saw my great grandma waiting for me
She stood alone
I asked where grandpa was
She replied, “Not here my dear.”
I didn’t understand what she meant
I didn’t understand where I was
I didn’t understand why the midnight creature did cause harm to my family or fiends
I didn’t care why the creature didn’t
I was happy that he had brought me to my grandma
I told her I was sorry for what I had done before she passed
Midnight creature was back on the streets waiting for the next person to bring home.

It's Worth Crying Over

His luscious, shoulder length, dirty brown hair flowed in the wind. His skin was completely flawless, not a single mark or sign of acne. He had dark blue eyes, when he would look up toward the heavens his eyes make the sky cry. People gathered around him in awe as even they cried at the sight of him. A old woman stood in front of him. More tears poured from her eyes than the sky's. The old woman in front of him was his mother. She stood alone as his father was not able to accompany them. He had said that he was too busy at work but the majority of people who did attend knew that it was only because he was visiting his therapist so he could get that great sensation that he loves so much.
A man stood behind the son, he held a Bible in one hand and a golden cross in the other. He wore a black suit with a white stole around his neck. He hadn't seen the child in his life but he could tell that this wasn't the end of the joy that he brought his family and friends. The man knew that people would look back at him and remember. The man in the book placed the cross in his shirt pocket and said to him, "Goodbye my son."
More and more tears fell from the peoples faces who gathered around him begging him not to go. His mother fell to her feet, tears covering the ground that she knelt in. As he faded away into the reality of this world people slowly got back into their cars and slowly drove away. Those who stayed were either helping his mother get back to her feet as she said her final goodbye's to her son, or those who began placing the dirt into the whole. There was a chimney, and candle that stood at the base of his tombstone, the candled flickered a few times until it completely went out. This day was truly a sad day, but people will not forget the happiness that this man brought us, weather the idea of a candle and wind chime was right to show where he went we may never know. "Today was worth crying over." His mother said as she jumped into the hole joining her son. The few men who were burring the coffin did not see her act. She two was buried.
